Open Positions

I am looking for both students and postdocs to join our group to work on statistical and machine learning problems related to molecular biology, genetics and medicine. All applicants should have basic UNIX/Linux competency, and programming ability in either Python or R.

For life sciences undergrads at UC Davis: a course like BIT150 or BIS180L would give you the necessary background.

For CS and stats undergrads at UC Davis: an introductory machine learning course (ECS 171, for example) is helpful.

Take a look at our Research and Publications to get an idea of what problems we are thinking about, and send an email to gquon@ucdavis.edu if you’re interested! Specifically for undergraduates: if you qualify, there are programs such as LAEP and work-study that will fund salary for you.
